The state debt of Kyrgyzstan has increased again

According to the Ministry of Finance as of August 31, the total amount of Kyrgyzstan's state debt is $8 billion 646.47 million.

Of this amount, external obligations amount to $5 billion 230.81 million, while internal obligations are $3 billion 415.66 million.

While the external debt decreased by $2.07 million, the internal debt, on the contrary, increased by $241.06 million compared to July 31, 2025.

The most significant part of the internal debt is represented by loans from long-term securities, which amount to $3 billion 384.22 million (99.1%). The external debt is largely formed due to the Export-Import Bank of China, to which $1 billion 588.41 million is owed (30.4%). As of March 31, the total state debt constitutes 42.26% of the projected GDP for 2025.
