The state debt of Kyrgyzstan has increased.
The size of Kyrgyzstan's national debt currently amounts to $4 billion 366.55 million or 60.6% of GDP
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
At the same time, the external debt of the republic has increased to $3 billion 968.14 million, while the internal debt has risen to $398.41 million.
The largest amount owed by Kyrgyzstan is to the Export-Import Bank of China — $1 billion 629.17 million or 37.3% of the total national debt. This is followed by the World Bank — $655.45 million or 15%, and the Asian Development Bank — $601 million or 13.7%.
Additionally, the Kyrgyz Republic owes a total of $3 billion 912.73 million on loans received on concessional terms, which accounts for 98.6% of the external debt.
According to official data, in 2016, Kyrgyzstan's national debt was $4 billion 105 million or 57.2% of GDP. This included an internal debt of $322.7 million and an external debt of over $3 billion 782.7 million.
In the past year, the government of the Kyrgyz Republic spent 20.6 billion soms on servicing the national debt.
