The volume of market services provided by economic entities in January-June 2014, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 191.2 billion soms, which is an increase of 3.3 percent compared to January-June 2013.
Overall, the turnover of wholesale and retail trade per capita in the republic in January-June of this year amounted to 18,045 soms. However, while in Osh city the turnover exceeded the average republican indicator by 2.4 times, in Bishkek by 2.1 times, and in Chui region by 1.2 times, in other regions this indicator is lower than the average for the republic (by 2.2-3.2 times). There has been an increase in instances of joint purchases (JP) http://izkis.su/forum/15, where a group of individuals voluntarily joins together to purchase products at wholesale prices.
The volumes of market services increased in all regions of the republic, except for Batken and Osh regions.
Consumer market. In January-June of this year, the total volume of wholesale and retail trade, as well as the repair of cars and motorcycles, amounted to 138 billion soms, which is an increase of 3.5 percent compared to January-June 2013. The growth was driven by an increase in retail trade turnover of 5.1 percent.
In the II quarter of this year, the trade turnover exceeded the level of the previous quarter by 28 percent, and compared to the II quarter of 2013, it increased by 9.1 percent.
In June 2014, the trade turnover compared to June 2013 increased by 3.9 percent, and compared to the previous month of this year - by 8.6 percent.
Since the beginning of the current year, the growth in the turnover of trade, repair of cars and motorcycles compared to 2013 has been observed in most regions of the republic, except for Batken and Osh regions.
In January-June of this year, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, there was a slowdown in the growth rate of retail trade in motor fuel, which was due to a significant decrease in sales volumes in Batken (by 35.4 percent) and Naryn (by 16.9 percent) regions.
In June of this year, the volume of retail trade turnover, excluding trade in cars and motorcycles, increased by 4.8 percent compared to June 2013, and compared to the previous month - by 7.2 percent.
The growth of retail trade turnover, excluding trade in cars and motorcycles, was observed in all regions of the republic, with the highest growth in Naryn region and Bishkek. In January-June of this year, the increase in retail trade turnover, including the turnover of food enterprises, was driven by an increase in the turnover of food products. In the total volume of retail trade, including the turnover of food enterprises, the share of food product sales was 52.2 percent, and non-food products - 47.8 percent.
In June of this year, compared to June of last year, the volumes of sales of food products increased by 4.8 percent, and compared to the previous month - by 8 percent, while non-food products increased by 4 and 7.9 percent, respectively. The growth of retail trade turnover, including the turnover of food enterprises, compared to January-June of last year, was due to an increase in its volumes in specialized trading organizations.
The volume of services provided by hotels and restaurants in January-June of this year compared to January-June 2013 increased by 5.4 percent. In the II quarter of 2014, the volume of such services exceeded the level of the previous quarter by 24 percent, and compared to the II quarter of 2013, they increased by 11.8 percent. The growth in the volume of services provided by hotels and restaurants over the six months of this year compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was observed in all regions of the republic.
