Volume of Transport and Communications Services for the First Half of 2014
Transport activities and cargo storage. In January-June of this year, the volume of cargo transported by all modes of transport increased by 273.7 thousand tons compared to the corresponding period last year. In June of this year, compared to the previous month, the volume of such
transportation increased by 4.2 percent, and compared to June of last year - by 2.6 percent.
During the reporting period of this year, the volume of cargo transportation carried out by individual entrepreneurs (natural persons) increased by 2.4 percent, and its share in the total volume of cargo transportation was about 92 percent.
The growth in cargo transportation volumes by all modes of transport was noted in all regions of the republic, but the most significant increase was observed in the Issyk-Kul region.
A decrease in cargo turnover was recorded for all modes of transport, except for road transport, where compared to January-June of last year, its volume increased by 19.8 million ton-kilometers.
Passenger transportation increased by 4.6 million people compared to January-June of last year. The main volume of passenger transportation (over 96 percent) was accounted for by road transport (buses and taxis). Compared to January-June 2013, passenger transportation by buses increased by 2.9 million people, and by taxis - by one million people.
The growth in passenger transportation volumes by all modes of transport was observed everywhere. Passenger transportation by buses increased in all regions of the republic, except for the Naryn region.
The volume of passenger turnover for all modes of transport in January-June of this year increased by 80.3 million passenger-kilometers. In June of this year, compared to June of last year, its volume increased by 13.5 million passenger-kilometers, or by 1.6 percent.
Warehousing and cargo storage. The volume of services provided for warehousing and cargo storage in January-June of this year amounted to 23.6 million soms, which is a decrease of 0.9 percent compared to January-June of last year. Postal and courier activities. Revenues from postal and courier services in January-June 2014 increased by 8.9 percent and amounted to 334.1 million soms.
Communication. Revenues from the provision of communication services in January-June of this year amounted to 12,369.4 million soms, exceeding the level of January-June of last year by 940.4 million soms, or by 7.1 percent. Of the total volume of services provided, 10,346.3 million soms, or about 84 percent, were mobile cellular services, and 1,199.9 million soms (about 10 percent) were for Internet access.
