According to information provided by CNN, citing sources in the U.S. and Europe, the Pentagon has approved the possibility of supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. The department concluded that this would not affect the military capabilities of the United States.

Sources report that a plan has been developed for the rapid execution of deliveries if President Trump gives his final approval. The Joint Chiefs of Staff have already assessed that the transfer of missiles would not harm U.S. defense.

However, before their use, Ukraine will need to resolve a number of operational tasks. Tomahawk missiles are typically launched from ships or submarines, but due to the limited capabilities of the Ukrainian navy, they will likely have to be launched from land using special systems developed by the U.S. military.

Earlier in July of this year, The Washington Post reported that Trump is considering the possibility of transferring Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. Modern versions of these missiles have a range of over 1,600 kilometers.

In September, U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg confirmed that Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, requested Tomahawk supplies during a closed meeting with Trump at the UN General Assembly. Kellogg added that a decision has not yet been made.

On October 17, in response to journalists' questions about possible supplies, Trump noted that he is "striving to end the war," emphasizing that these missiles are "necessary for America itself."
