Trump noted that he finds Putin's behavior inappropriate, as he makes such statements. “He should focus on ending the war that was supposed to be over in a week, but here we are in the fourth year,” he stated.
Additionally, the U.S. president added that “we have a nuclear submarine, the best in the world, right off their shores, and we don’t need a missile to travel eight thousand miles.”

On October 26, the Kremlin's press service released a video in which Putin discusses the test of the ‘Burevestnik’ missile with military commanders. The missile launch reportedly took place on October 21. Chief of the General Staff of Russia Valery Gerasimov stated that the missile covered 14 thousand kilometers and was in the air for about 15 hours. Putin characterized the ‘Burevestnik’ as “a unique project that has no analogs in the world” and stated the need to “determine possible ways of application and begin preparing the infrastructure for deploying this type of weapon.”
Putin first mentioned the development of the intercontinental cruise missile ‘Burevestnik’ in his address to the Federal Assembly in 2018.
