Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the aftermath of the nighttime Russian attack is still being addressed in Kyiv and expressed condolences over the loss of life. According to him, as a result of the raid, high-rise buildings in several districts of the city were damaged.
“Every strike by Russia is an attempt to inflict as much harm as possible on ordinary life. This week, these strikes targeted residential buildings, our people, children, and civilian infrastructure. These are the main targets for the Russians. Thousands of strikes with various types of weapons — in just one week, nearly 1200 strike drones, over 1360 guided aerial bombs, and more than 50 missiles of various types have been used by Russia against Ukraine,” he wrote on social media.
“Under all these strikes, Ukraine continued to actively defend itself: on the battlefield, in the sky, in diplomacy. There are significant results from the pressure on Russia — the 19th sanctions package from the European Union and new sanctions from the United States against Russian oil. We are grateful to our partners for these steps, but it is important not to stop,” the Ukrainian leader added.
