In Bishkek, a man went out to an intersection where the traffic light was not working and began directing traffic using a whistle and a bottle. This video became popular on social media the day before.
According to the Patrol Service of the Police, on October 28, there was a power outage at the intersection of Akhunbaeva – Toktonalieva due to an accident on the power line (RES), which led to a temporary stop of the traffic light's operation. While waiting for the patrol officers, one citizen took the initiative and went out to the intersection to help organize traffic.
“The Patrol Service of the Police expresses gratitude to the citizens who did not remain indifferent and took an active part. However, we remind that traffic regulation should be carried out exclusively by police officers. Without the necessary knowledge and training, self-regulation can lead to emergency situations and create danger for all road users,” the department added.
