In Manas, on the territory of the old airport, the construction of a new stadium is planned, as reported on October 30 by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev.

Tashiev also participated in the opening of the updated wastewater treatment facilities at station No. 2 of the municipal enterprise "Manas Vodokanal." The reconstruction included a complete overhaul of the buildings and infrastructure, with funding from the EBRD amounting to 5 million 498 thousand euros. As a result of the modernization, the station will be able to process up to 20 thousand cubic meters of water per day, whereas previously this figure was 8 thousand cubic meters.

According to the head of the State National Security Committee, the area of the old airport is 80 hectares. After its relocation, a stadium will be built on this site, which will accommodate between 25 to 30 thousand spectators, making it the second largest in the country. "Currently, a stadium for 55 thousand seats is being built in Bishkek, and in Manas we plan to create a stadium for 30 thousand. If the airport relocation can be accomplished next year, we will begin its construction, with all wastewater directed to the treatment facilities that will need to be maintained," he added.

In addition, work has begun in Manas on the construction of modern residential complexes on the site of dilapidated houses.
In May 2025, President Sadyr Japarov laid the capsule for the construction of an international airport in the Suzak district. The new airport will occupy more than 380 hectares, and the area of the two-story terminal will be 10 thousand square meters, with a capacity of over 350 passengers per hour.

The runway, which is 3,800 meters long, two taxiways, and six aircraft parking spaces will allow for the acceptance of both passenger and cargo flights.

The airport will be classified as category 4E, which will allow it to accommodate large aircraft such as Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, A321.

The Jalalabad airport was opened in 1938 as a simple airfield, and since 1972, a terminal building and an asphalt runway have been in operation.
