During a recent meeting held on December 1, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, reminded the heads of municipal institutions and akimats about the ban on collecting money for gifts for superiors ahead of the New Year holidays.

The mayor emphasized that this year, holding corporate parties is strictly prohibited. "If anyone decides to collect funds for gifts or distribute packages in offices, such actions will immediately lead to dismissal," he stated.

Junushaliev proposed an alternative: "If employees want to hold a corporate event, they should organize it for social institutions," he added.

It is worth noting that earlier, the head of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), Kamchybek Tashiev, called on civil servants to refrain from New Year corporate parties. The Bishkek city administration has also already prohibited its structural divisions from holding parties for the New Year. In addition, due to a shortage of electricity, restaurants and cafes are prohibited from operating after 10:00 PM. Similar measures have been taken by the administration of the city of Manas.
