He reminded the owners that according to new regulations, operations after 10:00 PM are prohibited. The mayor ordered a suspension of electricity supply for a month for those establishments that violate the established requirements.
“We must close those establishments where violations have been recorded. Otherwise, rumors will start to spread that they continue to operate despite the bans. Close them for a month; we need to educate them,” the mayor emphasized in a conversation with municipal officials.
As it became known, on November 13, the head of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, instructed local authorities and law enforcement agencies to enforce a ban on the operation of cafes and restaurants after 10:00 PM, and in case of non-compliance, to disconnect them from electricity. These measures are aimed at enforcing the noise law. Following this, the Bishkek city administration issued an order prohibiting the operation of establishments during nighttime and began conducting inspections.
It is important to note that the noise law does not prohibit the operation of establishments after 10:00 PM, but merely restricts the use of loud music. These restrictions are part of a policy aimed at saving electricity. Previously, the authorities:
- prohibited the use of outdoor lighting in government and administrative institutions in the evening;
- restricted electricity use in schools after 6:00 PM, leading to the closure of evening clubs;
- introduced a new power limit for the population - up to 3 kW, forcing residents to choose what to turn on: a washing machine or an electric kettle;
- prohibited the operation of mining farms until the end of March 2026.
