The mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, announced plans to relocate the city center to the area near the village of Japalak.

On November 7, the opening of Kokum-Biy Street took place in Osh after the completion of its renovation. The work began in September of last year, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, it had to be paused and resumed only in the spring. As a result of the reconstruction, the length of the road increased to 3.6 kilometers, and the width reached 13 meters. This road leads to the village of Japalak, where the largest car market in the city, "Japalak," is located.

According to Toktorbaev, local authorities plan to develop this area and gradually move the city center there.

“We intend to relocate the city center to this area, as in large cities, car markets and shopping centers are usually located outside the central districts. In this regard, we have decided to focus our efforts on the development of Japalak. If everything goes according to plan, construction of new commercial facilities will begin here in the spring,” the mayor noted.
