Zhenishbek Toktorbaev, the mayor of Osh, commented on the fire that occurred in a residential complex by the construction company "Emakom." He emphasized that this incident should not be perceived as an accident, but rather as a result of the developer's irresponsibility, reports the local municipality.

“The burned house of the company ‘Emakom’ is a sad example of negligence. Fortunately, there were no human casualties. The construction company took money from citizens but failed to complete the construction over five years. Residents moved into a house without gas, heating, and even electricity. When I arrived at the scene, they didn’t even have light,” noted the mayor.

According to Toktorbaev, residents repeatedly submitted requests to local authorities to connect the building to engineering networks, despite the fact that the facility had not yet been commissioned.

“We responded to the people's needs and connected electricity and heating at commercial rates so they could live in their apartments. However, due to the lack of an official launch of all systems, the load on the power grid gradually increased, which led to the fire,” he explained.

The mayor also added that the authorities, together with the developer, plan to complete the necessary work and commission the building by November 20.

“By the president's directive, the repairs must be completed, and people will be able to return to their apartments. It is important that such incidents do not happen again,” emphasized the city head.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire in the multi-story building on Mamatyzakov Street occurred on the morning of October 19. Eight fire crews were working at the scene of the incident.
