In Kyrgyzstan, oil and gas are primarily extracted in two regions — Batken and Jalal-Abad.

According to data from the Kyrgyz Geological Service under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, there are seven small oil fields in the country: Mailisay, Chigirchik, Changyrtash, Tamchi, Karagachi, Beshkent-Togap, and Tashravat. Four of them are located in the Batken region, and three are in Jalal-Abad.

There is also the Chaur Yarkutan field; however, it is classified as "practically depleted" in the mineral resources registry.

Natural gas reserves are concentrated in Southern Rishtan, located in the Batken region.
