On October 22, 2025, a fire broke out at the dump in the village of Kozhomkul, covering about 50 square meters of solid household waste. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The next day, October 23, inspectors from the Chui Regional Office of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service arrived at the scene to investigate the causes of the incident.
As a result of the inspection, an administrative case was opened against the person responsible for the dump, who was fined 23,000 soms for violating environmental standards.
In addition, a discussion was held with the management of the municipal enterprise, emphasizing the importance of adhering to environmental safety. Specialists recommended installing video surveillance, strengthening the fencing, and setting up barriers at the entrances to prevent repeated fires and unauthorized access to the area.
