On his social media page, Tuleev shared information about plans to complete the first phase of construction by December 1, and he also talked about the renovation of the famous fountain complex. "The fountain at TSUM will be updated and will become even more attractive. We will create beauty comparable to Times Square, and you will be able to take pride in our square in front of tourists," he noted.
Currently, the old fountain complex has already been dismantled, as it interfered with construction work.
It is worth noting that the Old Bishkek project has faced certain complaints from the residents of the capital, who express dissatisfaction regarding the lack of a full pedestrian zone, the closure of sidewalks, and delays in construction.
According to Nariman Tuleev, "asphalt laying work will begin soon, and Chuy Avenue will be opened for traffic."
Old Bishkek is considered one of the largest projects in the center of the capital. Construction began in the spring of 2025 and includes an underground shopping center with parking and pedestrian zones, as well as the reconstruction of the adjacent area. The total cost of the project is 2 billion soms, and the implementation timeline ranges from six to eight months. Residents continue to express dissatisfaction regarding the duration of the work and the inconveniences caused by it.
