The Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Matteo Patrone, confirmed that the bank will actively participate in the construction project of the Kambarata HPP-1. This financing is part of the European Union's Global Gateway initiative.

According to Patrone, the bank has already signed memorandums of understanding with the energy ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. He noted that the involvement of multilateral development banks is crucial for the successful implementation of this large project, which has a total budget of nearly $6 billion.

Additionally, the EBRD plans to provide three sovereign loans of $500 million each for each of the participating countries. However, as Patrone emphasized, the allocation of funds will depend on the preparation of a comprehensive technical assessment and the conclusion of intergovernmental agreements that will allow the project to move forward.
