This winter season, there are no plans for rolling electricity outages in Kyrgyzstan; however, new restrictions are being introduced, referred to as energy-saving consumption.

A new power limit has been set for citizens – up to 3 kW, which forces people to choose between using a washing machine and an electric kettle.

On November 5, the government approved a resolution regarding the efficient use of energy resources. Below are the key points of this document:

1. Ministries and various state institutions, including local administrations and state-owned enterprises, except for strategically important facilities, must:

2. The heads of the aforementioned organizations should appoint responsible persons for ensuring compliance with energy-saving measures and monitor the implementation of the order, establishing personal responsibility for any violations.

3. The Ministry of Energy, together with local authorities, must organize regular monitoring of the implementation of this order and submit a report to the president's administration every 15 days.

4. Control over the execution of the order is assigned to the department for monitoring the implementation of the decisions of the president and the cabinet of ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
