These changes were initiated as part of the implementation of the presidential decree on the legalization of motor vehicles and are aimed at clarifying the mechanism for the temporary import of cars.
According to the new provisions, the following amendments will be made to the Traffic Rules:
- Drivers are required to have on hand documents confirming the temporary import of the vehicle, such as registration certificates, powers of attorney, and driver's licenses;
- These documents must be presented upon request by law enforcement officers;
- Each vehicle is subject to mandatory temporary registration with the authorized state body.
Additionally, it is clarified:
In the absence of data on the date of the vehicle crossing the state border of Kyrgyzstan in the automated system, the date of import will be considered December 31, 2024.
The new rules will come into effect ten days after their official publication.
