It should be noted that the changes were approved by the Jogorku Kenesh on September 18 of this year.
As stated in the official announcement, the aim of the new amendments is to meet the domestic demand for socially important food products produced within the country.
Among the main changes:
- introduction of new terms and concepts within the framework of the food security law;
- strengthening food security by enhancing the role of import substitution to enrich the domestic market with socially significant products produced in the country;
- assessment of the level of food security, taking into account the provision of the population with food in sufficient volumes.
