At a press conference held on November 3, Kanaybek Tumanbaev announced plans to abolish indefinite driver's licenses in Kyrgyzstan starting from January 2026.

Driver's licenses that need to be replaced can be updated at the State Enterprise "Unaa," although the question of whether this will be a paid or free service has not yet been resolved.

Tumanbaev also noted that from 2026, private driving schools will be closed, and driver education will come under state control. All individuals aged 16 and over will be able to undergo training at state driving schools. The training program will last 14 months and include mandatory practice in different seasons.

Additionally, a new elective subject will be introduced in state schools, allowing eleventh-grade students to voluntarily study driving and traffic rules.
