During an evening raid aimed at monitoring compliance with new measures due to the electricity shortage, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, clarified whether the restrictions on operations after 10:00 PM apply to fast food outlets and stores, the press service of the mayor's office reports.

According to the mayor, the new restrictions primarily affect establishments where mass events take place and significant amounts of electricity are consumed.

“Fast food outlets and stores are not subject to these restrictions. The ban applies to entertainment venues such as cafes, restaurants, clubs, and banquet halls, where many people gather and powerful electrical appliances, lighting, and music are used. All such events must conclude by 10:00 PM,” Junushaliev specified.

He also noted that city authorities strongly urge establishments to turn off energy-intensive equipment after 10:00 PM.

“We recommend turning off all electrical appliances that consume a lot of energy. This is important, as the issue of electricity conservation concerns every citizen and all institutions,” the mayor added.

The mayor's office noted that checks for compliance with these restrictions will continue.
