The press service of the Bishkek mayor's office announced an increase in control over the activities of companies engaged in the rental and delivery using personal mobility devices (PMDs) as well as taxis. Authorities remind of the necessity to comply with all legal norms.

According to current government regulations, the right to use PMDs is granted to individuals over 14 years old, provided that the appropriate conditions and infrastructure are available. The minimum age for operating mopeds is 16 years, and it is prohibited to ride on sidewalks and pedestrian paths.

PMDs must be equipped with a speed limiter of up to 25 kilometers per hour, brakes, a horn, reflectors, and a headlight. Companies providing such services are required to monitor the movement of their vehicles and prevent them from being left in public places. Users are responsible for violations of traffic rules and for causing damage.

The mayor's office continues to receive complaints about the behavior of electric scooter, moped, and taxi drivers, including speeding, riding on sidewalks, and improper parking near pedestrian crossings and stops. These actions jeopardize the safety of pedestrians, especially children and people with disabilities.

In this regard, the mayor's office demands that all rental, delivery, and taxi services immediately rectify violations and bring their activities in line with the law. In the event of inaction or repeated violations, city authorities may initiate the suspension of operations for companies that do not comply with established norms.
