As of October, 812,608 people are registered in Kyrgyzstan who receive pensions. This number includes not only elderly individuals but also those who receive disability payments or survivor benefits. This was reported on September 24 by Nurzat Zhakieva, Deputy Head of the Public Relations Department of the Social Fund.

According to the provided information, men have the right to retire at 63 years old, while women can do so at 58 years old. The minimum work experience required for retirement is 5 years.

There are certain categories of citizens who can receive a pension earlier than the established age. These include:

- Workers engaged in high-altitude areas, as well as in conditions that are hazardous to health and involve heavy working conditions. Women from this group have the right to retire at 48 years old, while men can do so at 53 years old;
- Mothers of many children, who raise at least 5 children and have at least 15 years of work experience, can retire at 53 years old;
- Mothers of children with disabilities.

Additionally, Nurzat Zhakieva noted that citizens without work experience do not receive pensions but can rely on benefits from the Ministry of Labor. Women can receive such benefits starting at 60 years old, while men can do so starting at 65 years old.
