Nurtayeva competed in the under 72 kg category at the tournament. In her opening match, she won against the German athlete Laura Kohler with a score of 6:1. In the quarterfinals, the Kyrgyzstani faced the Russian Liliyana Rozhina, with whom she drew 2:2 but won due to the last action.
In the semifinals, Nursat defeated Mahiro Yoshitaka from Japan, the 2024 Asian champion, with a score of 6:3.
In the final battle, Nurtayeva faced Jasmine Dolores Robinson from the USA, who was the world champion among 20-year-olds. Although at the beginning of the match the Kyrgyzstani found herself in a difficult position, trailing 3:10, she managed to make an incredible comeback and won with a final score of 11:10, becoming the world champion.
This triumph of Nursat Nurtayeva was a significant event for the Kyrgyz wrestling school and a true achievement for the entire national sport.
