All mining farms in Kyrgyzstan suspended until spring - Tashiev

All mining farms in Kyrgyzstan will be closed until the end of March 2024. This statement was made by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and head of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev.

He noted that any violations of this ban will result in serious consequences.

“The complete cessation of mining farm operations across the country must be ensured by the end of March. Strict penalties are provided for continuing activities,” Tashiev emphasized.

He also called on government agencies and enterprises to disconnect electricity after 6:00 PM.

“Some ministries leave air conditioners on all night. This is unacceptable! Energy companies must monitor this. Temperatures do not reach such levels that they drop to minus 20–40 degrees,” he added.

Tashiev also agreed that in a number of government institutions, the territory is indeed large, and security issues are present. In this regard, he proposed to increase security at facilities, but strongly recommended disconnecting electricity during non-working hours to conserve resources.
