The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, emphasized in an interview with the "Region TV" channel that local authorities will be held responsible for the sharp increase in prices. Price control has been assigned to the Antimonopoly Service, but local bodies — akims, mayors, and regional leaders — must also actively participate in this process.

“In the last 3–4 days, I visited regions such as Chon-Alai, Uzgen, and Balakchy to listen to the opinions and problems of local residents. The main complaint concerns the rise in meat prices. State measures have already been taken: a decree was issued prohibiting the increase in prices for meat and food products. Unfortunately, this requirement is not being followed in many regions. I confirmed this on the ground — in some areas, the price of meat reached 900 soms per kilogram, although the decree states that the price should not exceed 680–700 soms,” Tashiev noted.

According to him, the wholesale price of meat is 450–500 soms, but intermediaries inflate the cost almost twofold. “If the purchase price is 450 soms, it is enough to sell it for 550 soms. The maximum allowable increase is 50 or 100 soms, but a twofold increase is illegal. Both the Antimonopoly Service and local authorities must monitor the situation. Unfortunately, they are not fulfilling their duties,” he added.

Tashiev also stated that if the price of meat exceeds 700 soms, the responsibility will fall on the akim, mayor, or regional head. “It is necessary to actively monitor prices in the markets,” he concluded.
