Speaking at a meeting with akims and heads of city services, Junushaliev emphasized that the restrictions imposed on establishments prohibiting their operation after 10:00 PM have yielded tangible results: for the first time in a long period, the capital has adhered to the electricity consumption limit.

“During the raid on November 13, we avoided extreme measures such as power and water supply disconnections,” the mayor noted. “We clarified the situation, and now it is important to continue informational work, excluding harsh measures. Establishments can operate, but mass events must conclude by 10:00 PM,” he added.

On the same day, the head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, instructed local authorities and law enforcement agencies to prohibit cafes and restaurants from operating after 10:00 PM, and in case of violations, to disconnect them from electricity.

After that, the Bishkek city administration issued an order prohibiting establishments from operating at night and began conducting raids. Simultaneously, similar checks were carried out in Osh. Visitors complained on social media about power outages, which forced them to leave the establishment.

President Sadyr Japarov expressed dissatisfaction with the harsh approach of city leaders and urged them to avoid extremes.
