President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov addressed city heads, particularly the mayors of Bishkek and Osh, criticizing the methods used during raids aimed at saving electricity. In his statement, he emphasized that the goal of these activities is to restore order in places where citizens' peace is genuinely disturbed, such as nightclubs and banquet halls where large groups gather for celebrations that can last late into the night.

However, as the head of state noted, the practice of raids has shown excessive strictness on the part of inspectors. The closure of even popular dining establishments, such as KFC, and the forced eviction of customers from cafes have become common. Many entrepreneurs have faced rude treatment, and the disconnection of electricity and water has occurred without sufficient grounds.

“Stop with such extremes!” Japarov warned. He added that energy saving should start with government institutions, which habitually leave the lights on around the clock, operating under the principle of “The state pays.” Furthermore, the president called for not interfering with the operations of small establishments that function without violations and in a calm environment.
