In his speech at the youth forum in Bishkek, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, announced his intention to eliminate the electricity deficit in the country within the next two to three years and to begin exporting electricity. He noted that the previous forum discussed the important task of achieving energy independence. "The electricity deficit is not a new problem, but rather a consequence of ineffective management in previous years. Although new small hydropower plants are being commissioned and large ones are being reconstructed, the current electricity needs are still not fully met," he added.

The president also mentioned that the construction of numerous social facilities, industrial enterprises, and large buildings in recent years has significantly increased the load on the energy sector, which has not always kept pace with this dynamic growth.

Nevertheless, Japarov assured that within two to three years, the government plans to completely resolve the electricity deficit issue and begin exporting electricity.

He also emphasized that the implementation of large energy projects will begin soon. "If before we relied solely on hydropower, now we are actively developing alternative sources such as solar and wind energy," the president concluded.
