The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, at a youth forum in Bishkek, expressed his position regarding the upcoming parliamentary elections, urging young people to actively participate in voting.
He emphasized that the country had previously experienced serious political upheavals caused by violations in the election process. However, according to him, the state has now taken the necessary measures to ensure transparent and fair elections.
“Since our forum is taking place before the elections of the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, I consider it important to make a few remarks. You know that political crises and protests often occurred due to elections. Unfair electoral processes, vote buying, the so-called 'carousel' voting, ignoring the will of the people, and lack of transparency have all become commonplace in the past.
Now this will change; we have put an end to it! All polling stations are equipped with modern electronic counting devices, which guarantees that each voter can vote only once. We are closely monitoring cases of vote buying and abuse of power. All conditions have been created to protect the rights of citizens. The state has done everything possible for this. Now, dear voters, it is important to keep your conscience clear and act honestly. You should not sell your vote for small money and then regret it. Unfortunately, as the saying goes, 'A thousand with one lame horse,' such situations may arise. But I ask you, youth, for the future of Kyrgyzstan, do not follow this path!” - said the president.
He also noted that in recent years there has been a decline in youth activity in elections. “In twenty days, on November 30, a new composition of the Jogorku Kenesh will be elected. Participation in elections is your civic duty, your responsibility to the homeland! I am confident that this time the youth will make a conscious choice for the bright future of our country and that there will be honest and worthy deputies in the parliament. I believe that you will go down in history as the generation that determined its own fate and future for the next five years!” - he added.
