The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic has called on citizens to refrain from using pyrotechnics during the New Year holidays.

In the department, it is emphasized that the use of fireworks has a negative impact on the atmosphere, especially in the winter period when the level of pollutants significantly increases due to temperature inversions. Additionally, pyrotechnic products create a lot of solid waste and increase the risk of fires.

Instead, the ministry suggests considering safer ecological alternatives, such as light installations, LED illuminations, and drone shows, which can create a festive atmosphere without harming the environment.

Furthermore, the ministry recommends that local authorities and city mayors organize a refusal of New Year fireworks during the current holiday season.

It is worth reminding that last year, the Bishkek city hall already decided not to hold a New Year fireworks display.
