The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision reminds citizens of the importance of adhering to laws regarding hunting and obtaining the necessary permits. It is also emphasized that there are penalties for illegal hunting.

Here are the main rules that hunters must follow:

• To hunt, one must have the appropriate documents: a hunting license, a weapon permit, a hunting ticket, as well as a personal shooting card or trophy sheet;
• Wildlife and hunting resources are protected by the state;
• Specific hunting seasons and limits on the capture of various species of animals and birds are established.

Foreign hunters are allowed to hunt only through official hunting enterprises in Kyrgyzstan. Quotas for hunting are issued by a specialized commission after the payment of the established fee for the use of natural resources.

The fee amounts are as follows:

• 1 million soms for one Marco Polo sheep;
• 200 thousand soms for one Siberian ibex.

Starting from July 2024, the amounts of fines for illegal hunting, including for rare species, will be increased:

• 2 million soms for a snow leopard;
• 1.5 million for argali, brown bear, maral, and gazelle;
• 300 thousand for ibex;
• 100 thousand for roe deer.

In addition, there is a reward system: citizens who report cases of poaching may receive a reward of up to 50% of the amount of the collected fine.

Illegal hunting may result in administrative fines, and in the case of capturing protected animals, criminal liability. If instances of poaching are discovered, citizens are advised to report to the Ministry of Natural Resources via the hotline 108, which may serve as a basis for receiving a reward.
