A raid aimed at checking compliance with environmental standards by motor vehicles took place in the city of Osh.

Information about this was provided by the Osh Regional Department of Environmental and Technical Supervision, which is part of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.

According to the department, on November 12, inspectors from the department, together with colleagues from the city of Osh and the Kara-Suu district, conducted an inspection to identify excess emissions of harmful substances and improve air quality.

“During the event, vehicles were found whose emissions exceeded the permissible standards. In accordance with Article 234 of the Code of Offenses (‘Operation of motor vehicles and other mobile means with excess levels of pollutants in emissions’), 5 protocols were drawn up against individuals. The total amount of fines imposed was 37,500 soms,” the message notes.

The purpose of the raid was to reduce the negative impact on public health and improve environmental safety, as well as to raise the level of environmental awareness among citizens.
