Ministry of Natural Resources on Smog in Bishkek: Sensors Installed Not According to Standards

Nursultan Tashybekov, head of the air quality control department at the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, stated on the air of "Birinchi Radio" that for accurate information on air pollution levels, one should rely exclusively on data from "Kyrgyzhydromet."

He also noted that since last year, a special interdepartmental commission has been conducting inspections of the installed sensors.

“Some sensors are located in parking lots or smoky areas, installed at low heights, which contradicts established requirements. There are clear standards defining at what height and in which locations sensors should be placed, as well as rules for collecting average data within a certain radius,” Tashybekov added.
