According to the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Environmental and Technical Inspection carried out raids in the Issyk-Ata district, where the warehouses of LLC "Gefest" and LLC "Kömür Magnat" were inspected. Checks were also conducted in the Jayil district at the warehouse of LLC "Gefest," where the quality of coal and radiation background were assessed.
The aim of these inspections is to reduce air pollution levels during the heating season and ensure the safety of the population from an ecological standpoint.
According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated October 6, 2025, No. 639 "On Certain Measures for the Protection of Atmospheric Air," the import, storage, sale, and use of bulk coal with a fraction of 0–13 mm is prohibited in the Chui region, as its combustion is one of the leading sources of atmospheric pollution.
