Almaz Musaev, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, stated the urgent need to update the country's Red Book.

According to Musaev, the last update of this document took place quite a long time ago, and it is time to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the state of flora and fauna to prepare a new edition.

“We are observing a decrease in the population of some species and the disappearance of certain plants. At the same time, during expeditions, we find new species that have not been studied before. Therefore, we are striving to revise the Red Book,” he added.

The Ministry of Natural Resources emphasizes that updating the Red Book will help to update information about the country's biodiversity and strengthen efforts to protect it.
