On May 28, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic issued Resolution No. 270, introducing a temporary moratorium on the use of certain types of plants until January 1, 2027. The main goal of this decision is to protect nature and safeguard rare species of flora, as reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision.
Ban from the Ministry of Natural Resources
According to the ministry's information, the plants subject to the ban include: macrotomia, arnebia, ash tree, aconite, aflatun onion, rhodiola, Samarkand everlasting flower, Olga's bug, long-stemmed bug, columnar bug, and Chimgan bug.

Now the following actions are prohibited:
• collection and processing;
• purchase and sale;
• transportation and use;
• export abroad.

The main goal of this ban is to preserve the stocks of wild plants, prevent the depletion of their underground parts, such as roots and bulbs, as well as to protect their natural habitat.

In this regard, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision has suspended the issuance of permits for the harvesting of these plants for both individuals and legal entities.
