Excise rates on alcoholic beverages have been increased in Kyrgyzstan

The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan has announced an increase in the excise tax on alcoholic products. This change is part of the planned measures outlined in the resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 18, 2025.

According to the new regulations, excise taxes will be increased gradually from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2029.

In particular, the new excise tax rate on vodka is set at 200 soms per liter.

It should be noted that revenues from the sale of alcoholic products play an important role in the state budget. In the first three quarters of 2025, over four billion soms were collected in the budget in the form of excise tax, with the majority of revenues coming from the sales of strong alcoholic beverages.
