More than 1.3 billion soms have been received in the KR budget from the payment of the "Google tax"

The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan reported the receipt of over 1.3 billion soms into the state budget from the "Google tax." These collections were recorded from January to October 2025.

A comparison with the same period of the previous year shows almost a twofold increase: in 2024, 678.8 million soms were collected.

For reference, the tax on foreign companies providing electronic services to users from Kyrgyzstan was introduced in 2022. The value-added tax rate is 12% of the cost of the services provided.
In 2023, 48 foreign companies, including giants like Google, Facebook, and Yandex Go, paid taxes in Kyrgyzstan. This also includes streaming services and software developers.

According to data from the Tax Service, four companies registered in the Netherlands underwent tax registration, as well as two firms from the USA, the UK, and Russia, and one each from Ireland, the UAE, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Cyprus.
