According to the Ministry of Finance, from January to September of the current year, the budget received 2 billion 772.2 million soms, which is equivalent to approximately $31.7 million from alcohol excise taxes.

The largest amounts came from vodka sales — 1 billion 808.2 million soms, as well as from packaged beer — 710.3 million soms and cognac — 107.5 million soms.

It is worth noting that in 2023, a ban was introduced in Kyrgyzstan on the production and import of beer products that do not have excise tax labeling under the TNVED code 2203, as well as on the circulation of all unmarked beer products in the country. In 2022, a 100% state monopoly was established in Kyrgyzstan on the production, import, storage, and sale of ethyl alcohol.
