According to Kasymov, the results from January to September 2025 indicate stable growth in the tourism sector, which is gradually becoming one of the most important industries in the country's economy.
According to data from the Border Service, over the nine months of the current year, Kyrgyzstan was visited by 8 million 170 thousand 73 people from various countries, exceeding the figures for the same period last year and indicating a recovery of the tourism sector.
For comparison, in 2024, about 8.5 million tourists visited the country. The start of the winter tourist season is also expected soon.
The State Tax Service reports that revenues from tourism activities, including the hotel business, restaurants, transportation services, and guide services, amounted to 8.5 billion soms.
Kasymov also noted that the gross added value of tourism for the first half of 2025 amounted to 30.18 billion soms, which corresponds to 4.3% of the country's gross domestic product. For comparison, in 2024, this figure was 3.8%.
The export of tourist services reached 529.5 million dollars, while imports amounted to 283.9 million dollars, contributing to a positive balance of payments.
Investments in fixed capital in the tourism sector amounted to 11.34 billion soms, nearly double the level of 2023.
Kasymov emphasized that the tourism industry remains attractive to investors, especially in the small and medium-sized business segment, and is gradually becoming financially sustainable, making a significant contribution to the development of regions.
