According to information provided by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, the total number of foreign tourists visiting the country from January to September 2025 reached 50 million. This is an increase of 1.6% compared to the same period in 2024. As a result, tourism revenues reached 50 billion US dollars, increasing by 5.7% compared to the previous year.
At a press conference in Istanbul, which is considered the tourist capital of the Mediterranean, data from the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) was announced, indicating that Turkey ranked fourth in the world in terms of visits for 2024.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, reported that the average length of stay for foreign tourists in the country was 10.3 nights, and their average daily spending reached 103 dollars per person, which is 7% more than in 2024.
Ersoy emphasized that the first three quarters of 2025 were challenging for the region due to the impact of climate change and regional conflicts. Nevertheless, thanks to the government strategy, tourism revenues grew to 50 billion dollars, a milestone achieved for the first time in the country's history by the third quarter. It is expected that by the end of the year, Turkey will be able to reach a target of 64 billion dollars.
As for the main markets, during the specified period, Turkey was visited by 5.53 million tourists from Russia, 5.22 million from Germany, and 3.54 million from the United Kingdom. The number of tourists from Kyrgyzstan increased by 5.3% compared to the same time last year, totaling 151 thousand people.
