Starting from January 1, 2026, new excise tax rates on alcoholic products will come into effect in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the State Tax Service of the country.

This increase in excise taxes became possible due to a resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on December 18, 2025. According to the document, a phased increase in the excise tax on alcohol is planned from 2026 to 2029.
Thus, starting from January 1, 2026, the excise tax rate on vodka will be 200 soms per liter.
It is worth noting that alcoholic products continue to be an important source of excise revenue for the state budget. In 2025, as of the end of the third quarter, over four billion soms were transferred to the budget in the form of excise tax.

The main share of these revenues comes from strong alcoholic beverages, which traditionally provide a significant portion of excise income.
