The cargo did not meet phytosanitary standards
Kyrgyzstan refused to accept 44.2 tons of potatoes that arrived from Russia. This was reported by the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the agency's data, on January 7, 2026, an inspection of the potato cargo arriving from the Russian Federation was conducted at the consolidated post near the "Ak-Tilek" checkpoint on the border with Kazakhstan. During the inspection, violations of quarantine phytosanitary requirements were identified.
Based on paragraph 3.7 of the "Regulations on the procedure for carrying out quarantine phytosanitary control (supervision) on the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union" and the absence of a phytosanitary certificate, the cargo was sent back to the sender.
