The Princess and the Pea

Craftswomen from our republic participated in the 55th international charity fair held in the capital of the Foggy Albion.

As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the prestigious hall in the central Kensington area accommodated around 100 stands from more than 80 countries. Concerts by folk groups were also organized on stage.

The colorful exhibition of Kyrgyzstan featured national souvenirs and scarves made of felt and silk by Farzana Sharshenbieva, who specially arrived from Bishkek, as well as jewelry crafted by Gulzara Davis, a native of Kyrgyzstan living in England. The unique and original items created by the artisans were immensely popular among the public and the diplomatic corps.

Our stand was also visited by a representative of the royal family, the patron of this fair - Princess Alexandra. By the way, she is a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II herself. Her Royal Highness, Princess Alexandra of Kent, expressed admiration for the unique works and gratitude to the Kyrgyz delegation for their constant and active support of the international festival.
