
In order to increase the interest of students from general education schools and additional education centers in astronomy and natural-technical sciences, as well as to identify gifted children and develop creative abilities among schoolchildren, the State Service for Intellectual Property and Innovations under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic provided financial support for the participation of a team from Kyrgyzstan in the X Asia-Pacific Astronomy Olympiad as part of the implementation of the project "New Generation of Inventors" under the State Program for the Development of Intellectual Property and Innovations in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2012-2016. The team consists of 3 members:
1. Shumeiko Alexandra Vladimirovna – leader of the "Constellation" club, team leader
2. Chanacheva Aijana Nurbekovna – a student of the "Constellation" club, RDITA "Altyn Tuyun"
3. Elebesov Madyl Turusbekovich – a student of the "Constellation" club, RDITA "Altyn Tuyun"
The X Asia-Pacific Astronomy Olympiad for schoolchildren will take place from November 24 to December 2, 2014, in Irkutsk (Russia). The organization of the Olympiad was initiated by the International Astronomical Organizing Committee.
The Astronomy Olympiad consists of three rounds: a theoretical round, a practical round, and an observational round, during which participants must demonstrate their knowledge of theory, practical skills in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, and space physics, as well as their ability to observe celestial objects with the naked eye and through telescopes.
