Among the cargo:
- 56.6 tons of mandarins from China, 20 tons of grapes, 44 tons of nuts, and 22 tons of dried mango;
- 20.5 tons of coconut substrate from Sri Lanka;
- 16 tons of cucumbers from Kyrgyzstan;
- 24 tons of dried fruits from Tajikistan.
The cargo was headed to major cities in Russia, such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Izhevsk, Perm, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, and Chelyabinsk.
Violations were found in three vehicles:
1. The 18 tons of mandarins from China had incorrect labeling, and the phytosanitary certificate did not confirm the safety of the products;
2-3. In the 44 tons of onions from Kazakhstan, most of the bags located deep in the truck were missing labeling.
“All three trucks that had violations were returned under the control of Rosselkhoznadzor to the neighboring state. The drivers were held administratively liable under Article 10.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation. The remaining 35 trucks successfully delivered their cargo to the destinations,” the statement from Rosselkhoznadzor said.
