
The publication presented its ranking of the best travel destinations for 2026
According to the Department of Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyzstan has been highlighted in The New York Times' list of the most attractive tourist destinations for 2026.
In this annual list, which features 52 unique places around the world—from majestic cities and cultural centers to natural wonders and unparalleled landscapes—the Tian Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan have earned an honorable mention.
“This underscores the high international tourism potential of our country and the growing interest in its natural and cultural riches. The Tian Shan, a mountain range symbolizing Kyrgyzstan, has been noted by The New York Times as a destination that is expected to attract the attention of tourists from around the world in 2026,” the publication added.
The ranking from The New York Times covers a diverse range of destinations: from themed travels dedicated to "Revolutionary America" in honor of the 250th anniversary of the USA, to the dynamic cities of Warsaw and Bangkok, as well as natural wonders in Asia, Africa, and other regions.
