The New York Times reports that U.S. authorities plan to check the social media activity history of tourists entering the country.
According to the new regulations, the U.S. Border Patrol will check social media data from the past five years for citizens of 42 countries that are eligible for visa-free entry and can stay in the U.S. for up to 90 days. Among these countries are the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and South Korea.

The Customs and Border Protection agency will also request an extensive list of personal information, including email addresses from the past ten years, as well as the names, birth dates, places of residence, and birthplaces of spouses and parents.
